One of my favorite areas on Cape Cod is Brewster Flats. It is especially beautiful when low tide coincides with sunset. The beach stretches for miles and you can walk out from the high tide line at least a quarter mile. Many is the time I've run and sloshed over the Flats to get close enough to the shore birds as they swarm from pool to pool. Once in a great while the gods favor me with a red sunset!
