Walking through the Place de la Concorde on my way back to a friend's house, I happened to look up and saw this juxtaposition of two Parisian icons. The statue is actually a replica. The original is a short distance away in the Louvre. I particularly liked how the last rays of the winter sun on the statue, along with the illuminated Eiffel Tower, contrasted with the cool colors of the clouds. The low light required a very slow shutter speed, and I feared the image would be blurry. So I was pleasantly surprised to discover that my hands were steadier than I thought!
